GENEVA, SWITZERLAND. Creative Electronic Systems (CES) has announced the VPP-8112 video I/O and processor XMC. The VPP-8112 incorporates various input/output channels with efficient image processing capability in a small, air-cooled or conduction-cooled format.
The VPP-8112 includes an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, an embedded Linux system, a floating point VLIW DSP, a Texas Instruments DaVinci digital media processor, a video image coprocessor for H.264 and MPEG-4 video compression, decompression, and a 3D graphics processing unit.
“The VPP-8112 is specifically designed as a powerful video acquisition and processing solution for harsh environmental conditions,” stated the CEO of CES, Hervé Garchette. “The XMC form-factor makes it possible to use this module in many types of systems with XMC carriers.”
The VPP-8112 is used in avionic I/O interfaces as well as fully integrated flight computers with general-purpose processing and video processing.
