ESCONDIDO, Calif. One Stop Systems (OSS) has signed a sole-source contract with the U.S. Navy to design a new military-spec flash storage array for airborne sensor data collection.
The proposed system -- a mil-spec version of the existing flash array -- is intended to be designed into multiple types of fixed-wing and rotary-wing manned and unmanned aircraft.
The system will use the same lightweight 25, 50, or 100 terabyte removable storage canisters and will concentrate on reduction in size and weight.
OSS officials say that they expect prototypes before the end of 2020.
