XPONENTIAL 2018--DENVER. Positioning technology company Hemisphere GNSS (Scottsdale, Arizona) introduced its rugged multi-GNSS, multifrequency four-helix HA32 antenna for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at the AUVSI Xponential show.
The HA32 --a high-performance antenna that supports the GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou positioning and navigation systems, plus Hemisphere’s own Atlas L-band correction service -- is aimed at use with UAVs, GIS [Geographic Information System], surveying, real-time kinematic mapping, and similar applications calling for requiring high-precision positioning and navigation in harsh or demanding operating environments.
The HA32 is built on a proprietary four-helix antenna technology that carries low-noise amplifier (LNA) features such as low noise figure of 2.0 dB (typical) and up to 30 dB gain (typical). The antenna is sealed in a durable and ruggedized IP67-rated enclosure (protection against dust and water) with a protective O-ring. The lightweight (40 g/1.4 ounce, typical) and compact form factor (40 mm by 75 mm/1.5 inch by 2.95 inches) design of the antenna enables good wind resistance when installed on UAVs and integration by way of a single SMA RF connector.
