ISR network web created for French armed forces by Airbus Defence and Space

MUNICH, Germany. Airbus Defence and Space won a contract from French defense procurement agency, DGA, has to improve the interoperability of its intelligence systems, through the industrialization, deployment, and support of the DOPEC (system for optimizing the use of sensors) and coalition shared data (CSD) systems.
The five years of development work on the software, carried out within the framework of NATO, was conducted as part of the French armed forces’ information system (SIA) program.
DOPEC, which focuses on the intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) chain tactically and strategically, enables a political or command sequence to be established that defines actions for the sensor -- in this case unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), observation satellites, mission aircraft, or a device that acts as a connected binocular -- and each person that plays a role in the intelligence operation down to the ground level. Once the intelligence data such as images, videos, communications, and other information gathered in the field or from the internet), has been collected, it is then exploited and distributed to those who need it, including the decision-maker, who is then able to see how the mission is progressing.
The exchange of such large volumes of data requires an intelligent network of CSD servers that enable databases within an armed or coalition force or intelligence service to be synchronized, both in the theater of operations and in mainland France. These servers are in the process of being deployed within the French armed forces. They will enable the command in Paris to view live images from the theaters of operations and to replay them where necessary.
