Preliminary design review completed for U.S. Navy's inertial sensor module

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. Engineers at Northrop Grumman completed the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) for the Inertial Sensor Module, a U.S. Navy?s Navy's Inertial Navigation System Replacement (INS-R) component.


The module system – called WSN-12 – is set to replace the WSN-7, officials say. Engineering development models are in the process of being built and deliveries are expected for 2017.
