Northrop Grumman orders additional components for USMC G/ATOR system

AUSHBURN, Va. Saab Defense and Security USA, LLC. will deliver additional components and subsystems of the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) system to Northrop Grumman under a contract valued an estimated $18.6 million. The contract includes priced options for additional sets of assemblies and associated spares.
The contract covers the delivery of major subsystems, assemblies, and software for the next nine Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) units. Northrop Grumman's engineers will integrate the assemblies into Lots 3-5 G/ATOR systems, which are scheduled for delivery to the USMC starting in 2018.
Saab completed delivery of the first six systems under a prior contract in 2016 for LRIP Lots 1 and 2.
