IMS 2018--PHILADELPHIA. Test and measurement technology company Keysight Technologies (based in Santa Rosa, California) is showcasing design and test solutions aimed at accelerating millimeter wave innovation at this week's International Microwave Symposium (IMS), held in the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
According to information from Keysight, the company is discussing simulation, design, and test topics at the symposium in several areas: One major area of focus is radar and electronic warfare (EW), for which Keysight is displaying leading-edge innovations in RF and microwave technologies with the aim of opening new areas of innovation back into the defense and aerospace arenas. Keysight is also highlighting its end-to-end network analyzers, an array of WLAN simulation and test tools, and its PathWave design and test software platform.
Keysight also announced at IMS the addition of noise figure (NF) measurements to its FieldFox handheld microwave analyzers; placing the FieldFox into NF mode enables portable one-button noise figure and gain measurements to characterize devices including low noise amplifiers (LNAs), frequency converters, and receivers using the widely used Y-factor technique.
“FieldFox provides real-time feedback on measurement integrity with built-in uncertainty bars that can be displayed on the measurement data,” said Dan Dunn, Vice President/General Manager Aerospace Defense & Government Solutions at Keysight Technologies. “By combining noise figure measurements with full two-port vector network analysis, spectrum analysis, and power sensor integration, customers now have access to complete characterization of amplifiers and converters in the field or repair depots.”
