Radar jammer from Raytheon gets $171.6 million contract nod from U.S. Navy

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. Raytheon Intelligence & Space has won a $171.6 million contract to begin Low- Rate Initial Production for its Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band (NGJ-MB) program, an advanced electronic attack system that is intended to give military pilots the ability to deny, disrupt, and degrade hostile technology, including communications tools and air-defense systems.
According to information from Raytheon, is aimed at making naval aviation more effective and increasing survivability and lethality of fourth- and fifth-generation fighters by its ability to jam multiple radars simultaneously.
Work under the contract will be performed primarily in Texas, Mississippi, California, Indiana, and Massachusetts; it is expected to be completed in October 2023.
