The Model 7894 high-speed clock generator comes in a PCI Express form factor. It provides fixed frequency sample clocks for as many as four Pentek analog-to-digital Cobalt and Onyx boards in multi-board systems. It enables synchronous sampling, playback and timing for a wide range of multichannel, high-speed data acquisition and software radio applications.
Pentek developed this product for system integrators looking for a space- and cost-efficient clock generator for its Cobalt and Onyx boards. Pentek's extensive experience in guiding customers through sophisticated system designs led to the development of this board that eliminates the need for large and expensive frequency synthesizers.
Delivering clock frequencies up to 2 GHz, the Model 7894 is an ideal companion clock generator for several Pentek high-speed products and their COTS and rugged PMC/XMC, AMC, Compact PCI, and OpenVPX derivatives. The board requires no programming.
