STOCKHOLM. Defense and security firm Saab has signed a contract with NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) in Luxembourg to upgrade three SINDRE I air surveillance radars in Norway. Saab?s upgrade, say company officials, will include replacing obsolete hardware and upgrading software.
”Saab’s radar upgrading approach is a proven and effective way to extend the service life of existing air surveillance radars. The Royal Norwegian Air Force will benefit from our low-risk, cost efficient upgrade program,” stated Tore Bekkevold, managing director, Saab Norway.
The upgrade work will be performed at Saab Defense and Security USA in Syracuse, New York, and at Saab Technologies Norway, in Halden, Norway. Under the terms of the contract, delivery will take place between 2017 and 2020.
