U.S. Army awards Raytheon a deal to deliver EO/IR surveillance towers to Middle East nation

DULLES, Va. Raytheon will deliver advanced surveillance towers to a Middle Eastern nation to help protect that nation's borders and military installations, according to the terms of a recent contract awarded to Raytheon by the U.S. Army.

Under the terms of the contract to the undisclosed country, Raytheon's Intelligence, Information and Services business unit (IIS) will provide equipment for persistent surveillance using an electro-optical/infrared camera (EO/IR) elevated on a semistationary platform.

Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon IIS, said of the contract win: "We'll deliver this surveillance system and the related technologies our ally needs to maintain the sovereignty of their borders and help protect their armed forces."
