EL SEGUNDO, Calif. Raytheon will supply the U.S. Air Force (USAF) with at least 779 units of its AN/ALR-69A(V) all-digital radar warning receiver, under the terms of a recently signed indefinite delivery/indefinite contract.
The ALR-69A, say Raytheon documents, enables improved detection range, target assist, and accurate, unambiguous identification in dense signal environments that may contain threat signals and those from wing men, coalition partners, and commercial operations. It has 360-degree coverage provided by four independent radar receivers, each covering one quadrant of the aircraft.
The ALR-69A is installed on the U.S. Air Force C-130H and KC-46A and is being tested on the F-16.
Travis Slocumb, vice president, Raytheon Electronic Warfare Systems, says of the system: "The ALR-69A provides USAF pilots the situational awareness required to operate in current and future complex emitter environments. We will continue to upgrade the receiver and add machine learning-based modules so the system can autonomously adapt to new threats."
