WATERLOO, Ontario. Pixus Technologies engineers released a VITA 46.11 compliant chassis manager aligned to the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) Technical Sttandard that sits behind an OpenVPX backplane.
The SHM300 SlotSaver VPX chassis manager leverages 100 percent US-based software/firmware. This product uses a mezzanine-based approach that enables chassis management without sacrificing a slot.
The chassis manager is used to monitor/manage the field replacable units (FRUs) plugged into the SOSA/OpenVPX chassis platform.
Features include inforrmation storage, chassis discovery of plug-in boards, information storage, SDR-based sensor initialization, cooling management, and other chassis control and event handling.
The Pixus SOSA chassis manager's compact design ensures that the size/spacing does not interfere with VITA 66 or 67 interfaces and cabling. The SHM300 also supports redundant options.
