SCOUT Specialist Vehicle to use rugged vetronics displays from Esterline

BELLEVUE, Washington. General Dynamics UK officials chose Codis vetronics displays from Esterline Corp. for use on the the armored SCOUT Specialist Vehicle (SV) program.
Under the $21 million, seven-year contract, Esterline will provide their Codis display products such as: the Codis TX-335S turret crew-station displays, which enable gunners and commanders to have logistics, mission-system and gun-control information; the Codis TX-321S triple-head driver's displays, which render a near-seamless 120-degree image of the route with selectable front or rear view in day or night vision; and the Codis VPU-101 specialized video-processing hardware, which receive and interpret data from multiple vehicle-mounted sensors, then process, reformat, and distribute the information to displays.
Hardware deliveries are slated to begin in 2016 and continue for seven years. Esterline will manufacture the Codis hardware in its Kortrijk, Belgium facility.
The SCOUT SV will be an agile, tracked, medium-weight armored fighting vehicle. General Dynamics UK is contracted to to build the 589 SCOUT SV variants for the British Army under an option invoked in 2014.
