Rugged video-management system from Curtiss-Wright selected for Norway's army vehicle

ASHBURN, Va. ? Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions has won a contract from vision systems provider Kappa Optronics (Gleichen, Germany) to supply the Curtiss-Wright video management system (VMS) technology to support the Driver?s Vision Enhancer (DVE) system used on the Norwegian army?s WiSENT 2 armored recovery vehicle.
Under the terms of the contract, Curtiss-Wright will provide Kappa Optronics with its Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA)-ready RVG-SDX 3G-SDI rugged video gateway switch and its GVDU2610 ground vehicle rugged display. The Curtiss-Wright VMS supports the DVE by processing and displaying video data from the vehicle’s multiple Kappa cameras, enabling enhanced driver vision to help increase mission capabilities.
Work performed by Curtiss-Wright under this contract is being done at the Curtiss-Wright facilities in Letchworth, U.K.
