U.S. Army Research Lab grants ICF $93 million to handle defensive cybersecurity operations

FAIRFAX, Va. Consulting and technology-services provider ICF has won a contract valued at as much as $93 million from the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) to support ARL's Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) and ongoing defensive cybersecurity research. The contract terms include both base and option periods.
Under the terms of the contract, ICF will support ARL’s Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) program and both basic and applied research, working to develop cyber tools and techniques and advance up-to-the-minute computer network defense. ICF is tasked with supporting all cyber operations for ARL and its subscribers through on-site and remote reviews of network security and ensure alignment between policy, compliance, and assessment functions; ICF will also support the information assurance management office, which sets policy for ARL.
Samuel Visner, senior vice president for cybersecurity and resilience at ICF, stated that “ARL is the 'tip of the spear' when it comes to national security, responsible for continually monitoring, testing, and defending the cyber operations of the U.S. armed forces.”
