Raytheon acquires cybersecurity firm

GARLAND, Texas. Raytheon officials announced the company purchased Teligy, Inc., a company focuse don developing cybersecurity technology. Technology. The acquisition extends Raytheon’s cybersecurity equipment footprint in vulnerability analysis, wireless communications, reverse engineering, as well as custom kernel software/device driver development.
This is Raytheon's 11th cyber-related acquisition in the last five years. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The transaction is not expected to materially impact Raytheon's total company sales or earnings per share for the fourth quarter of 2012 or fiscal year 2013.
"The Teligy acquisition adds critical wireless capabilities that address the needs of our cybersecurity customers in the intelligence, DoD and federal communities," says Lynn Dugle, president of Raytheon's Intelligence and Information Systems business.
Teligy is headquartered in Greer, S.C. and its Co-founders Vic Gunter, VP of Engineering, and Jason Yates, VP of Development, will remain with the company.
