Air Force officials selected Boeing and Northrop Grumman for the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction phase of its Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) weapon system program. The GBSD is the weapon system replacement for the aging LGM-30 Minuteman III ICBM.
