Leonardo DRS has announced that it received multiple orders from the U.S. military and the Italian navy for its Link-11 and Link-22 data terminal sets and associated communication equipment, systems, and services. Forces in the U.S. and other allied countries already use the Link-11 and Link-22 data systems as the primary way to exchange information among airborne, land-based, and shipboard tactical data systems.

Defense contractors BAE Systems and Leonardo DRS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer enhanced threat-detection capabilities for use on U.S. Army fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft; the companies will collaborate to develop an advanced infrared (IR)-based threat warning system to meet the evolving operational requirements for Army aircraft survivability.
