BETHESDA. Lockheed Martin has signed a contract with the U.S. Air Force -- worth as much as $3.3 billion -- to support a suite of secure satellite-communications systems over the next decade.
Under the terms of the contract, Lockheed Martin -- which is also the primary contractor for all three systems -- will deliver orbital operations, logistics, and resiliency support services for the Air Force's Advanced Extremely High Frequency, Milstar, and Defense Satellite Communications System III antijamming satellite communications networks. These three satellite constellations are three generations of equipment that provide highly secure, antijamming, survivable communications for the military.
