USAF Theater Deployable Communications program to use Cambium HCLOS radio

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL. The United States Air Force (USAF) has selected Cambium Networks’ Point-To-Point (PTP) 45600 High Capacity Line-of-Site (HCLOS) radio to replace the legacy Radio Frequency Module (RFM) in its Theater Deployable Communications (TDC PMO) program. A General Dynamics program, the TDC PMO is a communications network using Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) technology to afford rapid and secure transmission of information between wireless, wireline, or satellite systems.
PTP 45600 is a Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC)-approved broadband wireless Fixed Network Element (FNE), and also meets the TDC PMO’s J/F-12 certification and IPv6 support requirements.
"Cambium's PTP 45600 is well established in DoD circles, having provided reliable communications for many situation-aware networks that protect the warfighter in theater," says Dan Ayer, Vice President, General Dynamics Information Technology. "The TDC PMO would only accept as its next RFK radio a device that was proven to be rugged and capable in the most extreme conditions."
The PTP 45600 was selected and tested as part of the USAF Electronic Service Center (ESC) Innovation Challenge.
