DISA grants CSRA, Oracle provisional authorization for Impact Level 5 data

FORT MEADE, Md. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) officials granted CSRA LLC and Oracle Federal Managed Cloud Services a Department of Defense (DoD) Provisional Authorization (PA) for Impact Level 5 Systems (DoD PA IL5).
milCloud 2.0
This PA ushers the way for early adopters of milCloud 2.0 to connect to and run in the DoD, on-premises, private community cloud environment which will provide Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for mission partners, DISA officials say. This milCloud 2.0 PA is a one year conditional authorization.
DISA’s milCloud 2.0 is built on the CSRA Cloud Service Offering (CSO), Autonomic Resources Cloud Platform (ARC-P) Government Community Cloud (GCC) service. CSRA officials are excited to unveil both milCloud 2.0’s provisioning portal, which provides users with continuous monitoring of their usage, and its cost estimator, which allows potential users to estimate cloud computing costs in real time.
By providing CSRA with the DoD PA IL5, DISA has authorized CSRA’s milCloud 2.0 Cloud Service Offering (CSO) to host unclassified national security systems, high-sensitivity systems containing Controlled, Unclassified, Information (CUI), and Mission Critical Information (MCI).
Features of milCloud 2.0 include a self-service cloud portal for real-time provisioning and management, as well as scalable deployment environments based on real-world events and application requirements. milCloud 2.0 also provides customers capacity from a joint pool of resources in an on-demand basis and allows for tailoring of virtual environments to best meet respective mission needs.
CSRA was awarded the milCloud 2.0 Phase 1 contract in June of 2017. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract contains a three-year base period that will run through June 8, 2020, followed by five one-year options with a $498 million ceiling. Under the contract, CSRA is providing DoD with a private cloud infrastructure and leveraging existing economies of scale through the company’s FedRAMP High offering ARC-P.
Oracle Cloud services
The DISA Risk Assessment and Certification office granted an 18- month Provisional Authorization (PA), with conditions, at data impact level 5 to the Oracle Federal Managed Cloud Services (FMCS) Cloud Service Offering (CSO).
This represents the first data impact level 5 PA for the Oracle CSO, which provides a hybrid Platform as a Service (PaaS) model employing a general management community cloud (Shared Service Zones) and private cloud zones for individual Federal customers (Customer Zone) implemented across three separate Oracle owned and operated data centers.
