Boeing sets up new avionics and electronics unit

CHICAGO. Aerospace company Boeing has announced the creation of a new group that will make flight controls and other electronics for military and civilian aircraft that are currently made by outside suppliers.
The Boeing Avionics unit will focus on electronics used in such areas as navigation and flight controls for currently built and yet-to-be-designed military and commercial jets.
The avionics unit is slated to have an initial staff of 120, growing to an expected 600 people by 2019.
