Denmark buys 27 F-35A fighter aircraft
NewsJune 13, 2016
DENMARK. The Danish Ministry of Defence announced that Denmark will acquire 27 F-35As to replace the F-16 aircraft, which has been in operation since 1980. The F-35As are expected to join the Royal Danish Air Force by 2024.
Terma has been waiting for this decision for more than a decade. This decision will allow Terma to explore further collaboration with Lockheed Martin, says Terma President & CEO Jens Maaløe.
Terma is producing composite aerostructures and radar electronics for the F-35 program and has been a supplier since 2004. Lockheed Martin’s F-35 aircraft was selected over Boeing’s F-18 Super Hornet and Airbus’ Eurofighter Typhoon.
